Mediacités, c’est qui ?

Des journalistes pour une bonne part. Parmi les fondateurs, une majorité d’anciens de L’Express et de L’Expansion – pionniers du web ou rompus aux enquêtes en région – a quitté ce groupe au moment de son rachat par Patrick Drahi, par souci d’indépendance et envie de nouveautés. Mediacités c’est surtout des journalistes de terrain, ayant le goût des territoires. Mediacités, c’est enfin des spécialistes : de l’investigation ; des collectivités locales ; de l’éthique des médias et de leurs enjeux économiques. Jacques Trentesaux
A 50 ans, ce nordiste d’origine est journaliste et directeur
de la publication de Mediacités. Passé par La Croix, Liaisons sociales puis Enjeux‐Les Echos, il a ensuite dirigé le service « Villes » de L’Express et les 300 éditions locales annuelles du magazine.

Le lyonnais de l’équipe fondatrice. A 32 ans, cet ancien correspondant au Vietnam (pour Libération, le Temps, le Soir) pilote l’édition de Mediacités à Lyon et dans sa région. Outre l’Asie, il a aussi a sillonné la France pour les éditions locales de L’Express, six années durant.

Sylvain Morvan
Diplômé de l’école de journalisme de Toulouse, Sylvain connaît bien la ville rose. Mais pas qu’elle ! Après ses débuts à Ouest‐France, le journaliste de 31 ans a enquêté partout en France pendant six ans pour les services Sociétés et Villes de L’Express.

Manola Gardez
Seule non‐journaliste parmi les fondateurs de Mediacités, Manola connaît tout de même toutes les ficelles du métier. Et pour cause : à 55 ans, elle dirige l’Alliance internationale de journalistes et travaille depuis toujours dans l’univers de la presse et de l’édition.

Benjamin Peyrel
Benjamin, 39 ans, a débuté au quotidien La Croix. Passé par différentes rédactions (L’Humanité, Le Parisien, L’Ordinateur individuel, etc) il rejoint L’Express et écume préfectures et sous‐préfectures pendant 10 ans. Il s’intéresse aujourd’hui au datajournalisme.
